How does API AEROSOL II work?

The API AEROSOL II extracts air from inside the hive using an integrated fan, regulating its flow through a 5-level intensity system that ranges between 3 and 12 litres per minute. This allows the user to adjust the aerosol intake based on the season and hive activity.

• Low levels (3-6 l/min): Ideal for high brood production months (May, June, July), when the concentration of volatile compounds in the hive is at its peak.

• High levels (8-12 l/min): Recommended during low activity periods to optimize aerosol intake.

The system is powered via a 230V/12V adapter and is compatible with external batteries or API-SUPPLY power units, making it versatile and adaptable to different usage environments.

What beehive air is

The air inside the hive contains a mixture of volatile compounds, generated by bee activity and the presence of honey, wax and propolis. The hive also maintains a stable microclimate of humidity and temperature.

API AEROSOL II draws that air directly from inside the hive and carries it, filtered, to the mask, in a closed circuit that keeps out external contaminants.
