It is beekeeping equipment, not a medical device. What it does is described precisely; what it does not do, we do not claim either.
Ventilation unit that draws air from inside the hive, filters it and carries it to a mask, with flow adjustable across five levels from 3 to 12 litres per minute. Runs on 230 V or 12 V.
01 · HOW IT WORKS
A fan and a closed circuit
The unit takes air from inside the hive with a built-in fan, passes it through a filter and carries it by hose to the mask or mouthpiece. The circuit is closed, so what arrives is not mixed with outside air.
The air in a hive is a mixture of volatile compounds from honey, wax and propolis, in an environment of stable humidity and temperature. That is what the device captures and delivers: no more and no less.
02 · THE FIVE LEVELS
From 3 to 12 litres a minute
The flow is adjustable across five levels. The manufacturer suggests the low levels, 3 to 6 l/min, in May, June and July, when the hive is in full brood and the air carries more volatiles.
And the high levels, 8 to 12 l/min, in quieter seasons, to make up with flow what is missing in concentration.
03 · WHICH HIVE
Not just any
Common sense applies: take air from a hive that is healthy and in good condition. A colony under veterinary treatment is not the hive to breathe from — beekeeping medicines have withdrawal periods precisely because they leave residues.
And as with any hive product: it is not for people allergic to stings or to bee products.
04 · WHAT IS IN THE BOX
Ready to connect
The set includes the ventilation unit with flow regulator, the 230 V / 12 V adapter, a mask with a one-way valve in size L, the connecting hose, the filter and a mouthpiece for direct inhalation.
As it also runs on 12 V, it can go out to the apiary with an external battery or an API-SUPPLY power unit, which is what makes it usable away from a socket.
