Details of Cowhide leather gloves

Cowhide integral with water-repellent treatment, long gauntlet with breathable mesh and CE EN 388 certification — maximum protection for inspections in rain or working with liquids.

The beekeeping glove for those who prioritise protection over fine touch: 100% cowhide leather across the entire hand (no sheepskin panels), treated with a water-repellent finish so it stands up to humidity, rain and syrup days without stiffening or soaking through. 15 cm gauntlet with breathable mesh, reinforced cotton drill and an elastic band at the end. CE certification under EN 388 (mechanical risks) and EN 420 (general PPE requirements).

🛡️ 100% cowhide on hand and gauntlet

Unlike two-tone gloves with a sheepskin palm — softer and more sensitive — this model uses integral cowhide across the entire hand. Cowhide is thicker, denser and more sting-resistant, which makes it especially useful when you're working with defensive colonies, deep into a brood inspection with the colony stirred up, or doing prolonged manipulations with plenty of bees in the air. You give up some fine touch but you gain peace of mind: the glove takes direct stings, propolis abrasion and the wear of pulling and reseating 50–80 frames a session without splitting in the first season.

💧 Water-repellent treatment — the glove that handles liquids

Most leather gloves soak through the moment you start working with syrup, rain or glycerine-oxalic acid strips. Wet leather hardens as it dries, loses flexibility and ends up cracking after a few seasons. The water-repellent treatment on this cowhide makes water bead off rather than soak in: you notice it when cleaning the gloves after a feeding session, or when a downpour catches you in the apiary and the gloves are still dry inside an hour later. For beekeepers who feed liquid syrup, run glycerine-oxalic acid treatments or work regularly in damp conditions, this difference translates into extra years of useful life.

📏 15 cm gauntlet with breathable mesh and cotton drill

The gauntlet covers 15 cm of forearm, enough that your wrist doesn't stay exposed when you raise your arms during inspection. The construction combines four elements:

  • Leather reinforcement at the cuff base, where the most rubbing happens.
  • Breathable mesh section that ventilates the hand on long summer inspections.
  • Reinforced cotton drill running up to the elbow.
  • Elastic band at the end that closes the gauntlet around the forearm so bees can't crawl in from underneath.
