The Schley handle 1.24, equipped with a Luer cone, is a versatile accessory designed to be compatible with the dorsal sting hook or ventral hook. Ideal for artificial insemination procedures, this handle offers precise and secure control, facilitating the handling of specialized tools in veterinary or laboratory settings.
Handle with a Luer cone for the Schley insemination hooks: it is what turns a hook into a tool.
A loose hook cannot be handled. The dorsal hook (reference 1.21) and the ventral one (1.23) end in a Luer cone and carry no grip of their own. This handle is that grip, and it serves for both.
01 · THE LUER CONE IS THE QUICK CHANGE
The Luer cone is the laboratory standard for joining two parts by a simple tapered fit: it goes in, it stays, and it comes off with a pull. Here that means switching from the dorsal hook to the ventral one at the bench, with nothing to dismantle.
One buying note: one handle holds one hook. If you work with the dorsal and the ventral at once, which is the usual way to open the sting chamber, you need one for each.
02 · WHY THE GRIP MATTERS
The ergonomic shape is not decoration on an instrument this size: in work where the useful travel is tenths of a millimetre, what is held comfortably is what moves without tremor and without fatigue after an hour.
It is made of durable plastic and it is a spare part: you replace it when the cone fit loosens.
03 · BEFORE YOU BUY
It is the grip, not the hook.
