Hands-on Queen instrumental insemination course

This 100% in-person and practical training is designed for beekeepers who want to master, step by step, one of the most advanced queen rearing techniques. Each student works individually, with exclusive access to a professional Schley® insemination station worth over €3,000 — no equipment sharing, allowing for intensive and personalized learning.

Instructor: Jonathan Clavero, a professional queen breeder and expert in instrumental insemination, with extensive experience in training. Courses are limited to 3 students max for a fully hands-on approach.

Course includes:

• 9 hours of exclusive use of Schley equipment, stereomicroscope, centrifuge, and all necessary tools
• Virgin queens and drones for real insemination practice
• Complete guidance through the insemination process, from setup to semen storage
• Personal coaching throughout the day
• Lunch included

Topics covered:
• Assembly and calibration of the Schley equipment
• Hygiene, cleaning and disinfection protocols
• Semen extraction, filtering and homogenization
• Use of centrifuge for semen preparation
• Step-by-step insemination technique under stereomicroscope
• Proper handling and storage of inseminated queens

What you take home:
Each participant inseminates their own queens (included) and can take home the ones successfully inseminated — often up to 5 queens in a single day. With each inseminated queen valued around €150, the course pays for itself.

Optional: You may also bring your own virgin queens if preferred.
