Details of Dorsal Sting Hook with Luer Cone

Dorsal sting hook with a fine curved metal tip and a Luer cone coupling. A replacement part for the instrumental insemination of queens.

It couples to the 1.24 handle, which is sold separately. What you buy here is the hook, not the assembled tool.

01 · IT NEEDS THE 1.24 HANDLE

The hook comes with its cone, not with the handle

The part is the hook: a fine curved metal tip on a plastic body ending in a Luer cone, and that cone screws onto the 1.24 handle, which goes separately.

Anyone already working with the system replaces only the hook; anyone starting out needs both references.

02 · DORSAL AND VENTRAL ARE A PAIR

Each one enters from its own side

This is the dorsal: the curve enters from the back of the sting and leaves the view clear while it is held and positioned. Its counterpart is the ventral, which works from the opposite side.

They go separately and share the same Luer cone, so they swap on the same handle with no tools.

03 · IT IS A SPARE PART

You change the hook, not the whole tool

It is catalogued as a replacement, which is how it is used: the tip is what bends, wears or gets lost, and replacing it does not mean buying a new handle.

It is worth keeping one in the drawer: mid-session, a bent tip stops the whole job.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

Check whether you have the 1.24 handle. Without it, the hook cannot be held.

✓ RIGHT FITReplacing the dorsal hook on a Schley set with a Luer-cone handle.
✕ WRONG FITWorking without a handle: the part does not hold itself.
⚠ NOT INCLUDEDThe 1.24 handle or the ventral hook, which are separate references.
