01 · WHAT IS IN, WHAT IS OUT

Ten pieces inside, three outside

The case arrives with the 1.10 insemination syringe, 1.05 pressure forceps, 1.12 rubber plunger, 1.15 silicone tube, 1.16 silicone grease, 1.23 ventral hook, 1.25 hand probe, 1.51 entry bushing, 1.52 queen holding tubes and 5.00 glass tips.

What does not come is the microscope, the lighting and the CO₂ anaesthesia system. They are bought separately, and whoever prefers to settle it in one go has the complete set, which already includes them.

02 · WHY IT IS HEAVY

Stability is part of the instrument

It is an all-metal platform, and that weight is not a design flaw: it is what stops the assembly from shifting while you work with both hands under the microscope.

The feet raise the station to a sensible working height, which over sessions of several hours matters more than anything else. And it leaves room for your hands, which is the usual complaint about the more compact models.

03 · WHAT WEARS OUT

Cylinder, seal and capillary tip

The syringe is precision equipment and its parts get replaced: the cylinder (ref. 1.13), the seal and the capillary tip have their own reference and are ordered separately.

The 1.16 silicone grease in the case is there for exactly that: keeping the assembly sealed. A body that loses its seal gives no warning — you notice weeks later, in the mating results.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

This is the station without optics or gas: if you are setting up from scratch, budget for a microscope, a lamp and the CO₂ kit as well.
