Details of Schley Syringe Cylinder

Spare cylinder (ref. 1.13) for the Schley 1.10 and Harbo 2.17 insemination syringes: the clear body through which you follow the column.

It is a spare part, and compatibility is the whole decision. Two references, 1.10 and 2.17: if your syringe is one of them, this cylinder fits.

01 · WHEN TO REPLACE IT

When you stop seeing, or it stops sealing

There are two reasons and only one is visible: the plastic scratches and clouds with use, and with it goes the clear reading of the column.

The other is the fit: once the body loses its tolerance against the plunger, the dose stops being repeatable. That is not visible at the time — it shows up weeks later, in the mating results.

Instrumental insemination is done under a microscope and with very small volumes: any slack in the body ends up as queens dosed differently.

So it is treated as a consumable: the spare belongs in the case before the rearing season, not after.
