Flexible ~10 cm silicone hose for the HARBO syringe: the connector that joins the glass tip, the storage capillary and the line, and seals the capillary ends when storing semen. Inert and airtight; a replacement part. Cut it to the length you need.
In instrumental insemination, a tight line is everything: a single air leak ruins the dose. This silicone hose of about 10 cm is the flexible connector of the HARBO system — the piece that joins the glass tip, the storage capillary and the line to the needle, and that seals the capillary ends when storing semen.
Silicone is flexible and inert: it does not react with the saline diluent or the semen and keeps the line airtight. Cut the lengths you need to join the glass tip to the storage capillary and the capillary to the syringe line, so swapping a tip or a capillary takes seconds without losing the semen already collected. A connector in good condition keeps air out: a bubble gives the «spongy» plunger response that ruins dosing.
Silicone loses elasticity with use and its inside cannot be cleaned without compromising sterility, so it is a replacement part: swap it as soon as it dries out, softens or stops sealing. The ~10 cm length yields several connectors and sealing plugs — enough for more than one season of clean work.
