Details of Rubber Plunger for Schley
Replacement rubber plunger, Schley reference 1.12, for the Schley 1.10 insemination syringe and the HARBO 2.17 modified with Schley holder (2630): the rubber that seals against the cylinder wall and allows the micrometric advance of the semen. When the original hardens or deforms, air gets in and the dose stops being reliable; it is changed in seconds, with no adapters.
A spongy plunger is not the syringe: it is the rubber, which ages without warning, and this spare brings back the seal and the smooth advance.
01 · WHAT IT DOES
Seals the cylinder and advances without jumps
The rubber makes a tight seal against the inner wall of the cylinder: no air leaks, no bubbles, and a micrometric advance that answers the turn of the screw. When the original hardens or flattens after several sessions and cleanings, the plunger feels soft and the dosing drifts; this spare recovers control without replacing the syringe.
02 · WHEN TO CHANGE IT
Soft plunger, air in the column, hard or marked rubber
The signs come before failure: spongy response when turning, microbubbles appearing where there were none, hardened, cloudy or marked rubber. Change of season and move on. When restocking, also check the silicone tube 1.15 (2349) and the silicone grease 1.16: the other syringe parts that age.
03 · WHAT IT GOES WITH
Schley 1.10 and HARBO 2.17 with Schley holder
It fits straight into the Schley 1.10 syringe and the HARBO 2.17 modified with Schley holder (2630), the two reference kits in insemination stations; replaced in seconds. With other syringes, check the cylinder diameter before taking it as compatible.
