01 · WHAT IS IN IT

Inverted sugar that does not dry out

The base is monosaccharides: fructose and dextrose, with the sugar already inverted and a high fructose content. Arriving inverted, the bee takes it as it is, spending no invertase; and being fructose-rich, the paste does not dry out on the frames or crystallise in the comb. Raw materials are GMO-free and the manufacturer states a low HMF content.

02 · WHAT NOZEVIT IS

Plant polyphenols, not a medicine

Nozevit is a natural product based on plant polyphenols that its maker positions as support for the bee's intestinal integrity. Here it comes worked into the paste at 2.5 ml per kilo, so it goes in with the feed and there is nothing to dose separately. Worth saying what it is not: it is not a medicine and it does not treat nosemosis. If the apiary has a declared health problem, that is a matter for diagnosis and a vet, not for a feed.

03 · HOW TO PUT IT IN

A cut underneath, the patty over the frames

Make a cut in the underside of the bag and lay the patty straight on the brood frames, opening down towards the bees. The warmth of the cluster softens it from below and they eat through the opening. The plastic stays on: it acts as a floor. A 20 kg box is twenty placements, one per hive.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

The usual question is this or the plain BeeFonda: if you only need to cover stores, the basic one does the same energy job; this one makes sense if you also want the Nozevit to go in with the feed without dosing it yourself. And the usual rule: do not feed during the flow if you intend to harvest that honey for sale.
