Solid complementary feed for the small colonies of queen rearing and mating nucs (Apidea, mini-plus, baby nuc). An assimilable-sugar base fortified with vitamins, minerals and spirulina, in single 250 g sachets ready to use. Supports nurse bees and brood build-up when natural pollen is scarce; it does not replace varied forage or health management.
In a mating nuc the colony lives on a knife's edge: few bees, minimal stores and great sensitivity to any gap in the flow. When nectar and pollen stop coming in regularly, these tiny colonies suffer within days. This solid complementary feed is made for exactly that: a ready 250 g dose that brings energy and micronutrients to the colonies set aside for rearing and mating queens, with no mixing or preparation.
Its base is assimilable sugars —sucrose, glucose and fructose— that bees use directly as fuel for warmth, activity and brood. As a solid candy-type paste (90.8% dry matter), it sits on top of the frames beside the cluster, with less risk of drowning and fermentation than a diluted syrup; in such a small volume, that difference matters.
On top of that energy base it adds a complete vitamin complex, minerals, spirulina and inactive yeast, plus a 4% protein contribution. During intensive brood windows —starter, finisher, making up nucs— nurse bees need available micronutrients to feed larvae and queen cells when natural pollen comes in irregularly. It is a complementary support: it does not replace varied forage or a growth patty.
The single 250 g sachet is a practical ration for the small volume of an Apidea, a mini-plus, a baby nuc or a standard mating nucleus; in fact, it is sized to drop straight into the Apidea feeder without trimming. Feed it regularly and in line with colony size, always in the warm active zone the bees maintain. The box holds 45 sachets (11.25 kg), enough to cover a full rearing season.
✓ Suitable for: mating nucs such as Apidea, mini-plus / Kirchhain, baby nucs and standard nuclei used for queen rearing.
⚠ Bear in mind: this is a complementary feed. It supports the colony's nutrition but does not replace checking stores or health management, and on its own it does not guarantee queen acceptance or mating.
