01 · THE JAR

390 ml on six sides that are 500 g of honey

Clear glass with six flat sides, 90 mm across the flats and 99 high: the 390 ml nominal hold the 500 g of a half-kilo at 1.4 kg per litre. The flat side is what changes against the cylinder: the label sticks without creases or bubbles and reads head-on, the jar does not roll and in the box the sides nest and it moves less. It fits fillers with an 80-100 mm cup and works the same with runny, creamed or set honey.

02 · THE NECK

Standard TO70: the ordinary lid, not the Deep

The neck is a normal 70 mm Twist-Off, no high skirt: it takes the house’s standard TO70 lids, gold or black, in a pack of 25 to try (3146, 3147) and in a case of 1,150 (3211, 3212) for the pallet, two cases with some to spare. The H14 high-skirt lids of the tall-neck Aura jars are not these. A wide neck for a jar this size: it fills fast from the tank without spilling over the neck and the customer gets the spoon in without scraping.

03 · THE PALLET

1,960 jars, 485 kg and truck access

1,960 jars come palletised and shrink-wrapped: at about 230 g each, around 485 kg with pallet and cardboard, to bottle in the order of 980 kg of honey. It is the unit of the own-brand producer or the cooperative bottling close to a tonne a season in half-kilos: freight per jar is far lower than in packs, and glass, kept dry and wrapped, does not expire. It ships by pallet carrier, with truck access and a covered spot to unload. To try the format, the pack of 23 (2447); in the same hexagonal family, the 288 ml TO63 pallet (3315) and the 720 ml TO82 one (2689).

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

The pallet of jars is supplied without lids; the standard TO70 lids (3146, 3147, 3211, 3212) come separately.
