01 · THE JAR

288 ml on six sides that are 400 g of honey

Clear glass with six flat sides, 78.9 mm across the flats and 99 high: the 288 ml nominal hold the 400 g of honey at 1.4 kg per litre. The flat side is what changes against the cylinder: the label sticks without creases or bubbles and reads head-on, the jar does not roll and in the box the sides nest and it moves less. It fits fillers with an 70-90 mm cup and works the same with runny, creamed or set honey.

02 · THE NECK

Standard TO63: the ordinary lid, not the Deep

The neck is a normal 63 mm Twist-Off, no high skirt: it takes the house’s standard TO63 lids, gold or black, in a pack of 25 to try (3136, 3137) and in a case of 1,440 (3199, 3200) for the pallet, two cases with some to spare. The high-skirt DTO63 lid of the Aura 370 is not this one. A wide neck for a jar this size: it fills fast from the tank without spilling over the neck and the customer gets the spoon in without scraping.

03 · THE PALLET

2,560 jars, 560 kg and truck access

2,560 jars come palletised and shrink-wrapped: at about 220 g each, around 560 kg with pallet and cardboard, to bottle in the order of 1,000 kg of honey. It is the unit of the own-brand producer or the cooperative bottling close to a tonne a season in 400 g: freight per jar is far lower than in packs, and glass, kept dry and wrapped, does not expire. It ships by pallet carrier, with truck access and a covered spot to unload. 04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

The pallet of jars is supplied without lids; the standard TO63 lids (3136, 3137, 3199, 3200) come separately.
