01 · THE JAR

80 ml that are 110 g, and a lid that is half the label

A clear glass cylinder 60.2 mm across and 44.7 high: its 80 ml hold about 110 g of honey at 1.4 kg per litre. It is the format of the wedding or communion favour with a personalised label, the jar in the guest room of a country house and the sample left with a professional buyer. On a jar this size the lid is practically the only place where a logo reads from a distance, so decide lid and label together. Watch the type size: the side surface is around the 80 cm² of Regulation 1169/2011, the threshold below which mandatory particulars may drop to 0.9 mm x-height. Measure your jar before ordering the label.

02 · THE LID

High-skirt DTO58, and only in silver

The neck is 58 mm Twist-Off in the high-skirt version: the low TO58 of ordinary jars (packs 3131 and 3132, cases 3196 and 3197) has the same diameter and does not close on this neck. It takes the DTO58, which in the catalogue comes only in silver: pack of 30 (3133) to try and case of 900 (3198) for the pallet, eight cases. It is the same lid the 154 ml tall-neck tub (3091) takes, so anyone working both formats buys a single lid reference.

03 · THE PALLET

7,182 jars, and what that is in orders

It is 7,182 jars palletised and shrink-wrapped, about 535 kg with pallet and cardboard, to fill in the order of 790 kg of honey. In real orders, a pallet covers half a hundred weddings of 140 guests, or the room gift of a twenty-room hotel for a year. It is the unit of whoever works the events channel or corporate gifts: cost per jar drops a long way against the pack, and you do not depend on a restocking lead time when two orders land together. It ships by pallet carrier, with truck access and a covered spot. For a single wedding, the pack of 30 (2645).
