01 · THE ARITHMETIC THAT MATTERS

940 kg of honey and half a tonne of glass

The B212 takes 250 g of honey: honey weighs 1.4 kg per litre, so 212 ml of capacity leaves exactly the neck space free. Across 3,757 jars, the pallet bottles around 940 kg of honey.

And glass is heavy: each jar is 120 g, which is over 450 kg in jars alone, before cartons and the wooden pallet. This is not unloaded by hand: you need a pallet truck or a forklift at the delivery point.

02 · THE LID GOES SEPARATELY

TO 63 mouth, and you have to order it

The mouth is Twist Off TO 63, the standard quarter-turn thread. Lids are not included with the pallet and are ordered separately, in the same TO 63 diameter.

Order them at the same time: a pallet of jars waiting for lids takes a metre and a half of warehouse and bottles nothing.

03 · HOW IT IS STORED

Shrink wrap on until you use them

Glass does not spoil, but cardboard does: in a damp store the tray gives way and the jars travel badly. Keep it dry, on its own pallet, and open it layer by layer.

The shrink wrap keeps the dust off, and dust is what forces a rinse before bottling. Strip it all at once and you should plan on washing whatever is left exposed.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

A pallet only pays off if you have somewhere to keep it and will use it: these are 3,757 jars of the same 250 g format.
