01 · THE LID

Diameter is not enough: here the skirt decides

This jar is one of the few in the catalogue with a high neck, and that calls for a high-skirt TO 82 lid, also sold as Deep. Ordinary TO 82 lids share the same mouth diameter and that is what misleads: they go on, but the skirt falls short and the seal does not seat as it should. Lids are not included in the pack, so ask for the high version specifically.

02 · THE 600 GRAMS

410 millilitres are not 410 grams

At the density of honey — around 1.4 kg per litre — these 410 ml fill with about 600 g of honey. It is the format that reads on the shelf as a generous half kilo and the one that works best for direct sales: light in the hand, fits any bag, and lets you set an entry price without giving product away.

03 · THE SHAPE

Wide and low, which is what a spoon appreciates

At 85 mm across and 94 tall, the jar is wider than it is slender. That matters once the honey granulates: a wide mouth lets the spoon in and scrapes the bottom without a fight, and on the counter it shows the colour of the product across its whole face. It works equally for pollen, jam or preserves.

04 · THE PACK

Sixteen units, and a pallet if you mean business

It comes in packs of 16, the comfortable unit for a small run or for trying a format before committing. If the format is already yours and you bottle by campaigns, the same jar exists by the full pallet, which brings the unit cost right down. Keep the packs closed until filling: glass that leaves the factory clean gets dirty in the store.

05 · BEFORE YOU BUY

Lids are sold separately and must be TO 82 high-skirt. If you already have standard TO 82 lids at home, they will not do for this jar.
