01 · THE SMALL FORMAT

Here a filling error costs three times as much

Something you learn by packing and nobody tells you: in a small jar the same slip costs far more. Twenty grams either way on a kilo is 2 % and goes unnoticed; the same twenty grams on a 300 g portion is 7 %, and that shows up on the customer's scales and in an inspection. So in the tasting format the weight is not estimated, it is measured. And if you are going to print a figure on the label, weigh the first jars of the run with your own honey, whose density varies too.

02 · HOW MUCH IT REALLY HOLDS

300 g to the brim, 260-290 g filled normally

The 212 ml are to the brim: filled right up, close to 300 g of honey goes in. With the usual headspace below the neck — the gap you leave so the lid closes clean and the honey does not touch the compound — the real content settles in the 260-290 g range. Neither figure is wrong: they are two ways of filling the same jar, and it is worth deciding which is yours before ordering labels.

03 · THE LID AND THE RANGE

63 mm twist-off, shared with the Orcio jars

The jar comes without a lid: it closes with a 63 mm twist-off — four lugs, GPI 2030 glass finish — available in gold, silver, white, black, bronze, honeycomb or with a bee. And a detail that saves references in the store: that same lid fits the 212 ml and the 370 ml Orcio, so if you mix the plain jar with the Orcio in your line, you buy one lid for all three.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

In packs of 25 with a quantity discount, or as a full pallet of 3,757 units if you have the space and the means for palletised loads. It works just as well for pollen, jams and spices: it is a conventional plain glass jar.
