830 JARS PER PALLET: CLOSE TO 2.3 TONNES OF HONEY | 1,966 ml HALF GALLON: ABOUT 2.75 KG OF HONEY |
TO110 THE WIDEST MOUTH: PACK OF 9 (3170, 3171), CASE OF 270 (3230, 3231) | 415 kg THE PALLET, AT 500 G PER EMPTY JAR |
Full pallet of 830 half-gallon jars, 1,966 ml of clear glass with a 110 mm Twist-Off mouth: about 2.75 kg of honey per jar and close to 2.3 tonnes bottled per pallet. At 500 g of glass each, the pallet weighs about 415 kg. It is the widest mouth in the catalogue, one a whole hand fits through. No lids; the same jar in a pack of 9 (2436).
Almost three kilos per container and a 110 mm mouth: it is the format of the customer who eats honey all year and does not want to keep buying small jars.
01 · THE JAR
Its 1,966 ml hold about 2.75 kg of honey at 1.4 kg per litre. It is the bulk step for direct sales: the repeat customer who takes the year’s honey, the country house serving it loose and the workshop buying to repack. Against the kilo, the cost of container, lid and label per kilo sold drops to a third, and clear glass still shows the honey. Each empty jar weighs 500 g, which is what to add when working out parcel weight for freight.
02 · THE MOUTH
With a 110 mm mouth you fill from the tank with the tap open and no funnel, and the customer digs the honey out with a spoon even when it has set solid, which on a three-kilo container is the difference between using it and leaving it in a corner. It takes the TO110 lid: pack of 9 in gold (3170) and black (3171) to try, and case of 270 in the same two colours (3230, 3231) for the pallet, a little over three cases. It is the same lid as the 3,895 ml Gallon jar (3312), so both large formats share a lid reference.
03 · THE PALLET
830 jars come palletised and shrink-wrapped, about 415 kg with pallet and cardboard, to bottle close to 2.3 tonnes of honey. One pallet covers a whole season of direct sales on the farm, at the market or in your own shop without reordering containers. It ships by pallet carrier, with truck access and a covered spot to unload; glass kept dry and wrapped does not expire. To start, or for a one-off order, the pack of 9 (2436).
04 · BEFORE YOU BUY
The pallet of jars is supplied without lids; TO110 lids (3170, 3171, 3230, 3231) come separately.
