TO 70 MOUTH / GPI 2035 | H14 DEEP SKIRT |
25 CAPS PER PACK | 100 °C PASTEURISATION 60 MIN |
A Deep lid has a different skirt than a conventional TO70 lid.
These 25 black Deep TO 70 H14 lids are made for food glass jars with a GPI 2035 finish. They close the tall-neck Aura range, and black is the finish that competes least with the product: on a jar of amber honey, it lets the contents do the talking.
01 · COMPATIBILITY
Check that your jar calls for the Deep version. A low TO 70 lid uses the GPI 2030 profile and is not interchangeable just because the diameter matches: the high skirt covers more of the glass neck and needs a jar designed for that profile. Don't pick it by measuring the outside diameter with a ruler: confirm the mouth code. Mind the height too: TO70 comes in deep H14 and extra-deep H18, and they are not interchangeable — H18 is the one for GLAM 300 and 700 jars.
02 · CORRECT SEALING
Check the glass rim for chips, product residue or moisture in the sealing area. Set the lid straight and dial in the torque with real samples rather than by feel: too much deforms the skirt, too little leaves the vacuum half made. Check the result after the process, not before, because the vacuum finishes forming as the jar cools. The whole travel is a quarter turn: if it grates or feels like the thread has stripped, lift the lid off and set it down flat again — there is no thread to strip, a lug has ridden over its ramp.
03 · PASTEURISATION
The Tecnocap specification covers pasteurisation up to 100 °C for 60 minutes. That is not a blanket authorisation to sterilise at higher temperatures: any more demanding process must be validated for the specific lid, its sealing compound and the packed product, with the manufacturer's technical agreement. The packer remains responsible for validating food, jar, fill, headspace, torque and cycle.
04 · DESIGN AND CHOICE
Gold marks a jar as honey before anyone reads the label; black does not, and that is precisely its use. If you pack several lines — honey, creamed honey, preserves, sauces — a single black lid reference gives you one consistent look without the closure prejudging the contents. It is the usual finish in premium and delicatessen ranges.
05 · BEFORE YOU BUY
Store the lids in their packaging, clean and dry, between 5 and 35 °C and at a maximum relative humidity of 70 %; the data sheet gives up to two years of storage. Don't rest weight on them, and set aside any unit that is rusted, dented or deformed before filling. The pack contains 25 lids: jars, labels and capping equipment are not included.
