8 L TANK CAPACITY | 3,000 W POWER |
8-litre stainless steel electric fryer with an adjustable thermostat and a removable element, used in the honey house as a temperature-controlled hot bath.
It is not beekeeping equipment: it is a domestic appliance the trade has adopted because it gives you a steel tank, power and a thermostat for a fraction of what a purpose-built unit costs.
01 · WHY THIS ONE
In the honey house almost everything you heat wants one temperature and no more, and a pan on the hob controls nothing. This tank has an adjustable thermostat and 3,000 W, so it climbs quickly and then holds. The tank is stainless steel and the element lifts out, which is what lets you empty it and clean it properly between uses.
02 · HANDLING
If you are going to use it for hive products, use it for that and nothing else: a tank that has held cooking oil is never clean again for anything touching wax or bee feed. Label it, store it separately and clean it while it is hot, which is when it comes off.
03 · BEFORE YOU BUY
Worth being clear about: this is a kitchen appliance, not certified beekeeping equipment. It runs on 230 V and takes up 44.6 × 36.2 × 30.8 cm of bench. For treating equipment in batches —paraffin-dipping boxes, melting wax in quantity— the tool is a dipping tank or a wax melter; this one solves small volumes.
| ✓ FITS | Small-volume hot bath at a controlled temperature, on the honey house bench. |
| ✕ DOESN'T FIT | Treating equipment in batches, and sharing one tank between kitchen use and hive products. |
