American measurement: takes 48 cm frames
This item is Dadant US format: it takes frames with a 48 cm top bar. Dadant Blatt frames, at 47 cm, do not sit properly. If you are completing kit you already own, check the top bar of your frames first — and note that National and Langstroth frames do not fit a Dadant body either.
This Dadant hive is formed by:
- Body with 10 frames wired (included).
- Super 8 straight frames (included).
- Wooden roof top with galvanized steel cover.
- Crown board included
- Optional: Screened floor (varroa trap) with drawer.
- Inside inner sizes: 464x380 Outside sizes: 508x424. Thickness: 22mm.

The compatible model is the NICOT® queen excluder for 10-frame Langstroth and Dadant US hives, reference GRILREL10, measuring 425 × 510 mm. It is not included with the hive and must be purchased separately. The hive includes the brood box with 10 frames, the super with 8 frames, the roof and the inner cover; the screened floor is optional.
