Detalles de BeevolutionX Thermal Reflective Film for Hives (Roll 47 cm × 50 m)

Turn any hive into an energy-efficient powerhouse without changing your setup. BeevolutionX is a PE-aluminized reflective film that bounces back over 85% of the heat generated by bees directly into the brood nest. It helps reduce food consumption, limits condensation, and encourages early spring brood production. Lightweight, durable, and easy to install, it’s the go-to solution for improving your hive’s internal microclimate.

Inspired by the low-consumption hive concept, BeevolutionX allows you to bring advanced thermal management to any Dadant, Langstroth, or Layens hive — without modifying the hive body or changing your management practices.

How it works

Bees maintain brood temperatures at around 34–35 °C using stored honey as fuel. BeevolutionX acts like the inner reflective wall of a thermos, sending infrared radiation back into the cluster. Its aluminized side reflects heat, while the polyethylene layer provides strength and resistance to tears, acids, and propolis.

Key benefits of this thermal barrier:

Preserves warmth in cold or unstable weather.
Reduces moisture buildup on the cappings, especially in humid nectar flows like chestnut.
Limits honey consumption during periods of nectar scarcity.
Boosts early brood production for strong colonies in time for rapeseed or almond blooms.
And in summer: used externally, it can reflect solar radiation and reduce overheating of the hive.

Flexible format, multiple applications

The roll measures 50 m in length and 47 cm in height — a practical format that allows you to cut it with tin snips into any shape or size. Whether you want to make thermal hive dividers, top cover sheets, outer wraps, or custom insulation pieces, BeevolutionX adapts to your needs and hive type.

Suggested uses

Thermal hive divider: Cut a 47 × 46 cm sheet and staple it to a thin wooden board (e.g., 5 mm plywood). Use it as a brood nest divider to retain heat — much lighter than classic polystyrene panels.
Outer wrap for winter insulation: Cut an 18 cm-wide strip and wrap it around the brood box to reduce drafts. It adds insulation without making the hive bulkier.
Top cover insulation sheet: Place a cut piece (e.g., 500 × 430 mm) over the frames to preserve heat during inspections, especially in spring or autumn when no supers are installed yet.

Yield per roll:

• Around 35 full hive dividers (brood-frame size).
• Over 40 outer wraps for standard brood boxes.
• Approximately 90 top cover sheets measuring 500 × 430 mm (ideal for Dadant or Langstroth hives).

Why professionals choose BeevolutionX

Highly durable: resists tearing when pried with a hive tool and doesn’t fray from propolis.
Universal fit: originally sized for Dadant, but easily trimmed to fit Layens, Langstroth, or any hive frame size.
Minimal thickness: at just 40 μm, it doesn't interfere with ventilation or inner hive space.
Quick setup: cuts cleanly with tin snips, no special tools or edging needed.
Protected against hive acids: the PE layer shields the aluminum from formic, oxalic, and thymol-based treatments.

⚠️ Pro tip: When using it as an outer wrap, always leave a small bottom gap (≈ 1 cm) to allow air exchange and prevent excessive condensation inside the hive.
