Film and cushion provide different structures

The 47 cm × 50 m film roll can be cut to size. The 430 × 500 × 62 mm cushion combines an XPS core with PE-aluminium facing. The cushion adds thickness; it is not simply folded layers of the same film.

Measure the space beneath the roof and available height before fitting the cushion. The manufacturer places it above the upper covering with the film side facing upwards. The reference is designed for ten-frame Dadant hives; check external dimensions for other hive constructions.

A material incompatibility to account for

The manufacturer specifies removing both film and cushion during FormicPro use because the vapours can damage the aluminium layer. This is a material-care precaution to consider when preparing the hive for that treatment. FormicPro requires a veterinary prescription in Spain.
