01 · WHAT ARRIVES

1016 jars, no lids, and that is deliberate

The pallet holds 1016 glass jars and no closures. Lids come separately on purpose: anyone bottling a season picks colour, type and treatment to suit their line — gold, black, decorated, vented for hot filling — and that choice cannot be made for you. Plan to order them with the same purchase: 1016 TO82 lids, which is a long box of lids, not a handful.

02 · THE MOUTH PICKS THE LID

This same jar exists in 82 and in 77

Same glass, same capacity, same embossing: all that changes is five millimetres of thread. It is not a detail, because TO82 and TO77 are not interchangeable: the mouth you choose today is the lid format you will reorder for years. If you already have boxes of lids at home, start there and not the other way round. If you are starting from scratch, keep a single mouth across your whole line so you do not end up with two stocks that cannot cover each other. The 77 version is pallet 110210-BOCA77.

03 · 746 ML MAKE A KILO

Honey weighs far more than water

The jar is rated at 746 ml and sold as a one-kilo container, which puzzles people until you do the sum: honey runs at about 1.4 kg per litre, so a one-kilo container necessarily holds less than a litre. If you fill by weight — which is how it is labelled — the glass volume only tells you whether it fits. Each empty jar weighs about 320 g.

04 · A PALLET IS A PALLET

325 kg of glass arriving at your door

Worth doing this sum before ordering rather than after: 1016 jars at 320 g come to roughly 325 kg of glass alone, plus the pallet and the packaging. That is not unloaded by hand or carried up a staircase. Before you give the delivery address, make sure there is room at the tailgate and a pallet truck or forklift to move it, and somewhere dry and level to set it down. A pallet of glass badly propped becomes an expensive problem.
