60 / 80 HOFFMANN / STRAIGHT | 300–400 SUPERS/DAY PUBLISHED |
35–45 °C SPINFLOAT MIX | ≈150 KG START-UP CHARGE |
Professional ICKO Honey Gold line linking uncapping, horizontal extraction, super handling, conditioning of the honey-and-cappings mixture and continuous SpinFloat separation. Its practical value lies in keeping these stages balanced and reducing handling, rather than combining standalone machines whose nominal outputs do not match.
The extractor takes 60 Hoffman frames or 80 straight-sided frames. ICKO publishes 300-400 supers per day for the Honey Gold in an optimised setup; actual output depends on frame format, staffing, viscosity, temperature and a continuous uncapping feed. This is a made-to-order project, so layout, services, configuration and scope must be fixed in the quotation.
01 · LINE FLOW
The LTA configuration lists a vibrating-knife uncapper, horizontal Honey Gold extractor, super conveyor, heated twin-auger mixing tank and SpinFloat separator. Opened frames move into the extractor; honey and cappings are collected and conditioned before entering the separator. The augers keep the mixture moving, while the SpinFloat uses centrifugal force and density difference to separate it without a filter. Useful throughput is always set by the slowest stage, so intake, extracted-frame reception, pumping and outlet vessels must operate as one system.
02 · SPINFLOAT START-UP
The manual specifies a honey-and-cappings mix between 35 and 45 °C and recommends 40-45 °C for start-up. Normal working speed is about 300 rpm and must not be reduced below that figure; it can rise to roughly 400 rpm. About 150 kg of mixture is needed before honey starts to leave, and this may take several tens of minutes. Normal wax-layer scraping begins after approximately 500 kg has been processed. These requirements make the system suitable for continuous professional campaigns, not isolated small batches.
03 · CAPACITY AND INSTALLATION
ICKO publishes up to 1,500 kg/h for the SpinFloat and 300-400 supers per day for the extractor under its stated conditions; they are not interchangeable measures. Size the line from your real season and its limiting stage: frames per super, frame type, dense or partly granulated honey, productive hours, staffing and cleaning between lots. The SpinFloat must be levelled and anchored to a concrete floor. Maintenance access, cappings collection, a buffer vessel, honey discharge, hygienic drainage and a complete electrical calculation are also required; total installed power and footprint for this exact SKU are not documented.
04 · BEFORE YOU BUY
Confirm Dadant or Langstroth, Hoffman or straight-sided frames, actual dimensions and target rate. The uncapper is configured for the frame format and is not presented as universally convertible. The pump feeding the SpinFloat is expressly excluded from the described supply; discharge from the buffer vessel must also be engineered. A floor-mounted jib crane with clamp is optional. Require a layout and a written scope covering machines, pumps, connections, protection, installation, commissioning, training, cleaning, transport and lead time. A pump shown in the photographs does not make it included.
| SUITS | Professional honey houses with continuous volume, adequate space and a real need to reduce handling. |
| CHECK | Frame format, mixture and temperature, pumps, electrical supply, drainage, access and outlet vessels. |
| NOT FOR | Small batches, seasons lacking start-up volume, or an order placed without a signed layout and scope. |
