01 · 96 FRAMES PER CYCLE

Or 48 if they are brood frames

The horizontal extractor is optimised for short cycles and takes 96 frames of 25 mm — standard supers — or 48 frames of 35 mm, which are brood frames and deep supers.

The maker sizes it for operations of 80 to 200 hives. Below that span the investment does not hold up; above it, the next step in the range starts to make sense.

02 · TWO FORMATS COST SPEED

And the maker says so without dressing it up

As across the WET range, the maker adjusts chain pitch, bar spacing and heights to your actual frames. You can work supers and brood boxes on the same line, but it is worth knowing the consequence: asking for compatibility with both formats slightly lowers the speed.

It is not a fault, it is geometry: more spacing between bars means fewer support points per frame. If the whole operation runs one format, it is worth saying so when ordering.

03 · BLADES HEATED BY WATER

And that is a difference that matters

The WT2 uncapper carries water-heated blades, plus a scoring blade for deep cells or hard combs, and speed control to match the advance to the wax and the room temperature.

Water heating has a virtue that is rarely explained: water puts a physical ceiling on the blade temperature. With a badly regulated electric element you can overshoot, darken the cappings — first-quality wax — and heat the honey at the cut surface. With water, that risk does not exist.

04 · MODULES THAT CAN COME OFF

The pump and the melter are optional

The pneumatic D-Boxer takes the supers out and places the frames on the uncapper; the extractor has a heated bottom, pneumatic door and two-stage discharge, and the honey falls into a collector tank, also heated, which keeps it fluid.

From there, two modules are genuinely optional: the HP10 pump with capacitive sensor, which sends the honey to the maturer on its own, and the DS105-d cappings melter. If you already have a spinner, press or thermal mixer, that second module is removed or replaced.

05 · SEVEN KILOWATTS AND TWELVE METRES

The two numbers that decide whether it fits

Total power is around 6.5-7 kW on 400 V three phase. In context: that is the order of two stand-alone heated machines, because in a line like this almost all the consumption is heat, not motors.

The footprint is 500 × 240 cm — twelve square metres — and the assembly weighs 1,000 kg. Protection is IP54, dust and splashes, and the electrical installation complies with IEC 60204-1 on the electrical safety of machinery.
