Wurth
Our Würth selection centres on E4 TOP FG food-grade silicone for sealing suitable honey house surfaces and equipment. This acetic-curing sealant comes in a 310 ml cartridge. The joint material and full curing time matter as much as its food-contact classification.

More information about Wurth
Check the surface before sealing
Würth declares NSF/ANSI 51 conformity for clear E4 TOP FG. Its documentation covers glass, ceramics and stainless steel, but excludes alkaline surfaces such as concrete and mortar. It releases acetic acid while curing, which can affect some metals, so it is not suitable for every equipment component.
A dry surface skin does not mean the seal has fully cured
Clean and dry the joint before application. The manufacturer gives a curing rate of 3 mm per day under its reference conditions; a thick bead needs longer than a thin layer. A tack-free surface does not establish that the inside has cured. Follow the application sheet before putting the seal into service, especially where it will contact food.
