To mark the queen without chasing her around the comb: find her, press the grid cylinder over her against the comb and she's held under the mesh, still and reachable to dot her thorax. Ø 5 cm plastic, simple and cheap.

🎯 Holds her still without shutting her away

The grid keeps the queen still against the comb but with a gap to reach her thorax with the marker, and the workers can stay in contact through the squares. Mark her, let it dry and release her on the same comb, without taking her out of the hive.

⚠️ Press gently (no stop)

It's a simple press cage, with no spring or stop: press the cylinder only until it touches the comb surface, not into it, so you don't trap the queen. Do it on drawn comb (not on wood) and take your time. If you'd rather a system with a stop that limits the pressure, a plunger marker is more foolproof.
