Details of Cotton Smoker Fuel

Fast-lighting smoker fuel made from cotton fibres and cottonseed husks. It is convenient for short inspections and small apiaries where an ember must be established with little preparation. It is not intended to maintain a very long burn by itself.

🔥 From flame to cool smoke

Place a small, uncompressed portion in the smoker, light it at several points and work the bellows until the flame disappears and a stable ember remains. Add material gradually: filling and packing the smoker before the ember is established makes it hard to keep alight. Test the smoke on the back of your hand; it should feel warm, not scorching.

🧹 Expect ash and clean the chamber

Combustion leaves residue at the bottom. Empty the smoker only when it is completely cold and clear the air inlet before the next visit. Do not add plastics, synthetic fabrics, treated wood, adhesives or accelerants. In dry conditions, carry the equipment in a metal container and make certain no ember remains when work is finished.
