01 · HOW TO LIGHT THEM
One stick upright, flame at the tip and bellows
Break off a stick, stand it in the firebox and put the flame to the tip: the paraffin in the mix lights it by itself, with no paper or dry leaves. Three or four minutes of bellows and the tip is white ember; close the lid and the smoke comes out white and cool. It burns slowly and without sparks, because it is pressed dry.
02 · THEY ARE THE STARTER
A short inspection on one stick; for the day, fuel on top
They are a starter, what the maker calls ignition sticks, and no burn time is published: they last a short inspection, and two reviews from 2025 find them short-lived and crumbly. With the ember made, put straw pellets, cardboard or shavings on top and the stick acts as the wick for the whole day. If half is left, smother the ember in the air, never with water, and keep it for the next visit.
03 · WHERE THEY FIT
Any normal-bodied smoker
They fit smokers with a 10 cm body; in a miniature, break the stick in half. Keep them dry: the fibre takes up moisture and a damp stick lights badly.
