Pallet of 910 hexagonal 720 ml jars with an 82 mm Twist Off mouth. Each jar takes around 970 g of honey. Lids not included.
910 jars is nearly 900 kilos of honey and over three hundred of glass. You need both figures before ordering: one to sell with, the other to unload with.
01 · THE PALLET ARITHMETIC
The 720 ml hexagonal takes around 970 g of honey — honey weighs 1.4 kg per litre, so 720 ml leaves exactly the neck space. Across 910 jars the pallet bottles on the order of 880 kg.
And the glass weighs its share: each jar is 360 g, which is over 325 kg in jars alone, before cartons and pallet. This is not unloaded by hand — you need a pallet truck or a forklift at the delivery point.
02 · TO82 IS NOT TO80
The mouth is Twist Off 82 mm and the lids go separately. Order them at the same time: a pallet waiting for lids takes a metre and a half of warehouse and bottles nothing.
And here is what catches people out: there are bench cappers that stop at 80 mm and cannot reach TO82. If you close by machine, check the maximum lid size on yours before committing to this format.
03 · WHAT THE HEXAGON IS FOR
The hexagonal shape recalls the comb without the label having to say so, and on a shelf it stands out from a round jar at a distance. That is why it gets chosen: differentiation on the shelf.
The 82 mm wide mouth is functional too: it fills faster, scrapes out better and takes creamed or crystallised honey that gives trouble in a narrow neck. It works equally for pollen, jams and preserves.
04 · BEFORE YOU BUY
These are 910 jars of a single format: it only pays with a dry store, a way to unload and a market for that volume.
