01 · THE FIXING

It comes plain, with no holes and no adhesive

The panel leaves the factory whole, and that is deliberate: every tailgate is different and factory holes hardly ever land where you need them. Composite aluminium drills with an ordinary bit — two holes in the edges and a pair of cable ties is the quickest mounting — and it also takes screws onto a frame, or clips if you would rather not pierce it. Run the ties over the face of the panel rather than biting into its edge, which is where it marks.

02 · WHY RIGID

The one that survives changing trailer

Composite aluminium is two thin aluminium skins over a plastic core: it weighs little, does not rust or buckle and takes sun, rain and the pressure washer. What sets it apart from vinyl is that it comes off whole and goes back on: migrate with the big trailer one week and the van the next, and it is the same sign that travels. And with no adhesive, it neither depends on the weather to grip nor leaves glue behind.

03 · THE SIZE

34 × 22 cm, and only that

People ask for a smaller one and there is none, for the same reason the sign exists at all: a warning that cannot be read at a distance warns nobody. Mount it at the rear, on a clear area and without covering the number plate, lights, reflectors or any required marking. If your tailgate has no flat panel, that is precisely the rear where vinyl gives up and this does not.
