Details of Cold-applied glossy varnish for candles 1000 ml

The rule that decides whether the candle still burns properly: the varnish goes on the surface, never on the wick.

Clear high-gloss varnish applied cold to candles made of beeswax, paraffin and vegetable waxes. 1,000 ml tin.

01 · HOW IT GOES ON

Dipping or brushing, cold

The usual way is to dip the candle for a few seconds and let it drain; for specific details you can brush it on. Being applied cold, it does not alter the structure of the candle, which is the difference from any finish that needs heat.

The candle must be cold and dry before you start, and the room between 5 and 25 °C. It dries in under nine minutes and is not left tacky.

02 · THE WICK

That is the only real condition

It is the question we get most: applied as a surface film, the candle lights and burns normally. What you must not do is saturate the wick or flood the inside — a wick soaked in varnish is no longer a wick.

It does not change the natural smell of the wax either, nor interfere with any fragrance you have added: it is a finish, not an additive.

03 · THE FINISH

Gloss, and hiding the marks

It forms an even, drip-free film that gives high gloss, protects the surface from handling and hides the small marks left by demoulding. On a pure beeswax candle it lifts the golden tone without covering it.

And it can be pigmented with colour dispersions, so it allows finishes of your own and different ranges from the same wax.

04 · HANDLING AND CLEANING

Thinner, not water

Tools are not cleaned with water: you need a specific thinner for candle varnish, sold separately, or a compatible mild solvent.

That same fact sets how you work with it: in a well-ventilated place, away from heat and flames, with the tin firmly closed and out of reach of children. If you need the safety data sheet for the product, ask us.

05 · BEFORE YOU BUY
