Roll-on deodorant with potassium alum, witch hazel, honey and propolis, certified and with no synthetic fragrance.
A deodorant does not keep you dry: it works on the smell. And that difference is what separates an alum formula from a conventional antiperspirant.
01 · WHAT ALUM IS
Fresh sweat does not smell: the odour appears when the skin's bacteria break it down. That is where potassium alum comes in — it is astringent and gets in the way of that work, rather than plugging the outlet.
And one thing that is almost never said: alum is a double salt of aluminium and potassium. It is sold as the natural alternative, and it is one by origin, but it does contain aluminium.
02 · WHAT ELSE IS IN IT
Witch hazel is the other astringent leg of the formula, the classic of after-shave lotions. Honey and propolis bring the hive part, and the propolis the resinous base note.
No synthetic fragrance and no sticky feel once dry.
03 · HOW TO USE IT
Apply to clean, dry skin and let it dry before dressing. On freshly shaved skin it stings: the micro-cuts feel the astringent, so leave a few hours.
And the caution that goes with any propolis product: do not use it if you have a known allergy to bee products.
04 · BEFORE YOU BUY
It is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant: if what you want is to stay dry, this is not it.
