Products to take: check form and ingredients

The 30 ml mother tincture is an alcohol-containing extract; chewable propolis comes in solid form. Sprays, syrups and sweets include other ingredients such as honey, sugars or plant extracts, depending on the formula. Compare the ingredient list and label, particularly if you want to avoid alcohol or sugar.

Extract percentage does not equal pure propolis percentage. Nor can tincture instructions be transferred to a spray because they share an ingredient: each product has its own directions.

External care: drying powder is not for ingestion

The 30 g propolis powder in this selection is a talc-based cosmetic for external use. It is not a food powder to add to honey or drinks. The distinction matters because the brand also makes edible propolis products.

Choose creams, soap, toothpaste and hair-care products by their intended area and use. Organic status or the absence of an ingredient must be checked for the individual product rather than attributed to the entire brand.

A separate pet-care range

Animal ear-cleaning and skin-care products have their own instructions. Do not substitute a human cosmetic just because both contain propolis. If you have a known allergy to hive products, review the label warnings before using any format.
