What is inside the bottle

Propolis is the resin bees gather from buds and bark to seal the hive, and it is not water-soluble: in a water-based formula it settles out. That deposit at the bottom is the product, not a fault.

The clove brings the bite and the xylitol sweetens without being sugar — it is what lets a mouthwash taste sweet without carrying any.

02 · XYLITOL: MIND THE DOG

A household warning worth giving

Xylitol is toxic to dogs, even in small amounts. This is a bathroom product, so it is not a bottle to leave within reach of an animal, nor one to discard half-used where a dog could lick it.

For people it is an ordinary sweetener in oral hygiene. The warning is for the dog alone, and it is real.

03 · THIRTY SECONDS, THEN SPIT

How it is used

Shake, measure with the cap, rinse the mouth for about thirty seconds and spit it out. Morning and night.

And the thing worth saying even if it sounds obvious: a mouthwash goes alongside brushing, it does not replace it. On plaque the brush has not removed, a rinse does little.

04 · ALLERGY TO HIVE PRODUCTS

When not to use it

Propolis is a known allergen: anyone who reacts to hive products, to resinous balsams or to poplar resins may react here too.

If that is your case, or you are unsure, check before using it. And as with any new product in the mouth, stop if irritation appears.
