Details of Wire spool holder

Benchtop stand for wire reels from 500 g to 1 kg. It holds the spool on a horizontal shaft so that it rotates as the wire is drawn out, preventing the spool from rolling off the workbench or the wire from unravelling uncontrollably whilst wiring frames.

🧵 A neat wire feed starts with a secure base

The base features holes for securing the holder to a stable workbench. Position it so that the wire emerges aligned with the frame, without rubbing against any edge. Before pulling, check that the spool rotates freely and that the end is not trapped under another coil.

📐 The weight alone is not sufficient to confirm a proper fit

As well as weighing between 500 g and 1 kg, the spool must fit between the side rails and its central hole must accommodate the shaft. Check these two measurements if you are using a spool of an unusual size.

This holder dispenses the wire but does not tension it. Secure the end before cutting and avoid leaving a loose end under tension. Remove dust and wax residue and keep the spindle dry so that the spool continues to rotate smoothly.
