01 · WHAT THIS SIZE IS FOR

Wedding favour, tasting, sample

A hundred and six millilitres is about 150 grams of honey — honey weighs roughly 1.4 kg per litre — and that is the classic size for a favour: a wedding or communion keepsake, a tasting gift, a sample of a new harvest. It puts a good honey into someone's hands without the cost of a large jar, and the amphora profile with its little handle does the rest of the work on the table.

02 · FILLING IT PROPERLY

Warm, and cap it straight away

Fill the honey warm, below 38-40 °C, and cap it the same moment: if the jar sits open while it cools, vapour condenses on the cap and ends up as droplets on the honey. The base is wide — 58 mm — so it stands up on its own on the filling table and does not roll about in the box in transit.

03 · THE CAP AND THE LIGHT

TO48, and store them dark

The cap included is Twist-Off 48 mm with a food-grade lacquered lining — the same finish as the 500 g Diamond jar, in case you ever need a replacement. It takes a gentle water bath, but it is not an autoclave container. And a piece of advice that holds for any honey in clear glass: keep them in the dark, because light and heat are what really age honey on the shelf.
