- Pack
The half-kilo jar is the one people give as a present. And a present gets looked at twice before it is opened.
Twenty-five Orcio jars of 370 ml in white glass, with a TO 63 mouth. Classic crock silhouette, 87.3 mm across and 106 mm tall. The lid goes separately and also comes in packs of 25, so the numbers work out.
01 · HOW MUCH HONEY GOES IN
The nominal capacity is to the brim. Leaving the headspace the lid needs, a 370 ml Orcio holds around 500 g of honey — honey weighs roughly 1.4 kg per litre — which is why this size is known as the half-kilo jar.
That «around» matters if you are printing net weight: weigh a full jar of your honey before you order the labels.
02 · THE LID
It takes a 63 mm Twist-Off lid with a low skirt, the standard one, in gold, black, honeycomb or bee design. The deep version, even though it is also TO 63, belongs to other jars: this is the mistake that costs the most returns in packaging.
And a warning that saves a complaint: honey is jarred cold, so no vacuum forms. The button neither drops nor clicks, and that is not a faulty lid: with honey the seal is mechanical. For product you sell, a new lid per jar — the liner takes the imprint of the rim on the first closing and never goes flat again.
