This grey synthetic primer is a protective base coat for wood, wood-based materials, and iron. The 20 kg format is intended for workshops or apiaries treating several hives in succession.
Remove rust, poorly adhering paint, and deteriorated areas by sanding or the appropriate method. The surface must be firm, clean, dry, and grease-free. Shake thoroughly before and during application.
The data sheet recommends 25–30 µm dry-film thickness and one or two coats. The theoretical coverage is 8–10 m²/L; porosity, texture, and application losses reduce the actual surface area. It can be applied with an airless sprayer, spray gun, brush, or roller.
Touch dry in 20 minutes, fully dry in 60 minutes, and recoating after 3 hours at 20 °C. Cold, humidity, insufficient thickness, or ventilation will extend these times; do not return the hive to service solely by the clock if the coating is still soft.
The composition includes synthetic resins and a mixture of hydrocarbons. Apply to the exterior of empty boxes, with ventilation and the PPE specified in the safety data sheet, away from flames or sparks. Allow the coating to cure and the odour to dissipate before returning the hive to service.
