EWG hive trolley with a mechanical chain lift: the bottom blade slides under the hive, the chain raises it under control to the height of the trailer or the stand, and the built-in strap holds it during the move. Aluminium and galvanised steel frame weighing 18 kg, with large pneumatic wheels for dirt tracks, grass and uneven ground.
A hive with full supers goes past 40 or 50 kg: lifting it by hand is what finishes a beekeeper’s back in ten years.
01 · THE LIFT
Chain: up and down under control, not in jerks
The chain lift raises the hive to whatever height is needed and, above all, lowers it slowly: loading it on the trailer, stacking it on another or leaving it on a raised stand without the final jerk, which is where things and backs break. The bottom platform with its blade slides under the hive and picks it up whole, without dismantling or tilting it.
02 · OUT IN THE FIELD
Pneumatic wheels and a strap, because the apiary is not a warehouse
The wheels are pneumatic and large: they absorb the bumps and do not sink into soft ground, which is where a warehouse trolley gets stuck with 60 kg on board. The built-in strap secures the hive while you move, and that matters less for the hive than for what happens if it shifts halfway up a slope. Aluminium and galvanised steel: 18 kg of trolley, which you can load into the van on your own.
03 · WHO IT IS FOR
From thirty or fifty hives upwards
It makes sense for anyone moving equipment regularly: migration, loading trailers, reorganising apiaries. Below that scale, the hive trolley without a lift (509) covers moving at ground level. If what you want is to raise and lower boxes within the apiary with a motor, there are the manual (1390) and electric (1389) Kaptarlift, and to lift the hive onto its stand, the Flow Super Lifter (2939).
04 · BEFORE YOU BUY
The trolley is supplied with its lift and strap; the hives, obviously, are not.
