Details of Manual V-Shaped Uncapping Machine with Heated Blades 12/24 V for Langstroth and Dadant

Manual V-shaped uncapper in stainless steel with heated blades: the frame comes down between the two blades and is uncapped on both faces at once.

It needs a 12 or 24 V transformer that is not included, and that is the first decision: with 24 V it heats up sooner and holds the pace better.

01 · HOW IT WORKS

One pass, both faces

Put the frame between the guides and slide it firmly downwards. The two hot V blades cut the cappings continuously and they drop straight into the tray or the bench. Against a loose knife you gain speed and regularity; against steam systems you save yourself the generator and the boiler, and you control the blade temperature directly.

02 · THE CUTTING ADJUSTMENT

Set the height by the fattest comb

The gap between the blades is set with a double nut, and that is where the result is decided. Cut too deep and you tear off wax and honey you will then have to press; stay too shallow and you leave cells closed, so the frame will not drain in the extractor. Set it by the fattest comb in the batch and go over the few cells left by hand — quicker than running every frame through twice.

03 · WHERE IT MOUNTS

Bench, drum, and the carriage moves

It fits on uncapping benches of 1000 or 1500 mm, and on top of a drum too if you are short of space. The carriage is adjusted by releasing the upper stops, which is what lets you move from one frame format to another without changing machine.

04 · WHO IT IS FOR

Family operations and mid-sized honey houses

This is a manual machine: you set the pace, frame by frame, which is why the jump in output is large against a knife and limited against an automatic line. It is stainless steel, washes down with hot water and goes from one season to the next without rusting. And cappings cut cleanly arrive in better shape at the press or the filter afterwards.

05 · BEFORE YOU BUY

The transformer goes separately — we recommend the 24 V one — and so does the uncapping bench. It takes both brood and shallow frames.
