24V / 100VA wax embedding transformer: the right choice for stainless wire. Common 9V/12V units often heat stainless too slowly. With 24V + 100VA (voltage + available power), heating is faster and more consistent. On galvanized wire, use very short pulses if you’re new.

Detalles de Wax Embedder Transformer 24v

When you’re wiring up frames and trying to get a batch done, the thing that wastes time is a sheet that won’t bond properly or a weak transformer that barely heats the wire. This unit is built for the job we actually do: embedding wax foundation onto the wire fast, clean, and repeatable.

How it works is straightforward: with the foundation already positioned in the frame, place the two probes on two different points of the wire circuit (usually near the ends of the wire run) and apply power in short pulses. The wire warms up, the wax softens right around it, and the wire “sinks” into the sheet. As soon as you see that happen, remove the probes and let it cool. Just enough heat, just enough time.

One detail matters a lot: some frames are wired with galvanized steel, others with stainless steel wire. Stainless can be a headache because with the common 9V or 12V transformers it often takes forever to heat properly. So the first step is simply knowing what wire you’ve got.

This model, at 24V AC and 100VA, has the headroom to work well even with stainless. On the flip side, if you’re new and your frames are galvanized, it can feel too quick at first. It’s not just “voltage”, it’s the available power (VA) and the current the transformer can deliver depending on wire resistance and contact quality. Practically: galvanized + good contact = heats very fast, so keep your pulses short.

Tips that prevent most problems:

Tension the wire before embedding: if it’s slack, it won’t seat into the wax and it won’t hold well later.
0.5 to 2 second pulses (several short beats one long): too long and the wire can overheat and cut through the foundation.
Probe contact must be on the wire, not staples, nails, or wood: poor contact is the classic “it doesn’t heat” or “it’s painfully slow”.
Never touch the two probes together (short circuit) and avoid leaving the transformer running with no load.

Specs: input 220V, output 24V (AC), 100VA, 50-60Hz. Robust plastic housing, CE marked, compliant with EN61558. Works with frames wired in stainless or galvanized wire.
