- To order
The Désopro® Uncapping Machine for Dadant Blatt or Langstroth frames has been developed by our team of experts in honey extraction, offering speed, precision, robustness, and an ergonomic design aimed at improving beekeepers' efficiency.
Désopro uncapping machine with vibrating blades and variable speed: two models depending on your frame, and you have to choose right before ordering.
The first question is not the machine: it is which frame you run. It is built in two versions and neither covers both. Vibrating silicon blades, electronic speed control and adjustable cutting depth, designed to be worked standing and without twisting for every frame.
01 · SPAIN'S DADANT DOES NOT FIT
The Dadant model is for Dadant Blatt, with a 47 cm top bar. The Dadant normally used in Spain is the Dadant US, 48 × 30 cm, and that 48 cm top bar does not go into the Blatt version.
Nor does it fit the Langstroth version, which takes 48 × 23 cm: the width is fine, but the 30 cm depth of the Dadant US is out. Its shallow frames do go through that version. Measure your frame and ask us before ordering.
02 · TWO MODELS, AND YOU MUST CHOOSE
Dadant Blatt version: takes brood and super frames of that format, with a 47 cm top bar.
Langstroth version: frames of 48 × 23 cm and shallows, including the shallows of the Dadant US. The choice is made when ordering the machine and it governs the whole season, so decide it with the frame in hand and not from a catalogue.
03 · THE SPEED IS ADJUSTABLE
Electronic speed control lets you match the pass to the frame: old hard wax does not cut like comb drawn this season, and a super does not cut like a brood frame.
On top of that comes the cutting depth adjustment. Between the two you aim to take the cappings and little more: cutting deeper is wax that carries honey with it and extra work in the cappings spinner.
04 · NO TWISTING OF THE TORSO
The layout puts the operator square on, with no trunk rotation for every frame, and the machine is quiet. A system holds the frame in the loader and releases it at the right moment to enter the blades.
It sounds like brochure detail and it is not: uncapping is the most repetitive task of the season, and posture is what decides whether you finish the day or half of it.
05 · THE FULL LINE, PIECE BY PIECE
Our range carries the frame loader that feeds the machine continuously and the 1,600 W blade heating, which holds the edge at temperature and improves the cut. Both are ordered separately.
The maker also recommends an accumulating bench and a hydraulic super lift, mainly so that frames do not go in crooked and jam the machine. Those two are not listed with us: if you need them, ask and we will quote them.
06 · BEFORE YOU BUY
Measure the top bar and the depth of your frame. That is the decision.
