01 · THE JAR

370 ml with a tall neck that are 500 g of honey

A slender cylinder with a short shoulder and tall neck, clear flint glass with no honeycomb or relief: the honey, from lavender amber to dark forest, shows as it is and the label falls on a plain body 71.8 mm across and 122 high. The 370 ml nominal hold the 500 g of a half-kilo, at 1.4 kg per litre. It works the same with runny, creamed or set honey, and fits any filler with a 60-80 mm cup.

02 · THE NECK

TO63 Deep: high skirt, different lid

The neck is 63 mm Twist-Off in the Deep version, with a taller thread than the ordinary TO63: the regular TO63 lid, the one for low jars, does not close on this jar. It takes the high-skirt DTO63 lid, which in the house comes in silver: pack of 25 (3138) to try and case of 880 (3203) for the pallet, a little over two cases per pallet. Other high-skirt colours on request. It is the Aura’s only caveat, and the one that avoids ordering 1,900 lids that do not close.

03 · THE PALLET

1,904 jars, 350 kg and truck access

1,904 jars come palletised and shrink-wrapped: at 175 g each, about 350 kg with pallet and cardboard, to bottle in the order of 950 kg of honey. It is the unit of the own-brand producer or the cooperative bottling one to two thousand kilos a season in a shelf format: freight per jar is far lower than in packs, and glass, kept dry and wrapped, does not expire. It ships by pallet carrier, with truck access and a covered spot to unload. To try the format, the pack of 25 (2431); in the same family, Aura 250 (3245), 350 (3313), 445 (3314) and 720 ml (2040).

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

The pallet of jars is supplied without lids; the high-skirt DTO63 lids (3138, 3203) come separately.
