01 · WHY IT LIVES IN A FRAME

They carry it off with the hive

The chip is not stuck to the box: it is hidden inside an ordinary Langstroth frame, indistinguishable from the rest. Whoever takes the hive takes the frame, and there is nothing visible to remove.

It is a working frame, not an ornament: it takes a spin in the extractor, so it can stay in production like any other.

02 · WHICH NETWORK IT USES

No SIM and no phone contract

The device sends its coordinates over its own network deployed in Spain, Portugal, France, Italy and other European countries. It carries no SIM card and does not depend on a phone contract, and that is precisely why there are no monthly fees.

The trade-off is on the map: outside that coverage it does not report. If your hives are outside Europe, ask us before buying.

03 · HOW YOU CHECK IT

Web panel and Android app

It is managed from the web panel and from the mobile app, which is Android only. If you use an iPhone, the way in is the web panel from a browser — it works, but it is worth knowing before you buy, not after.

One frame carries one device: what you buy is what locates that hive.

04 · THE BATTERY AND THE THREE YEARS

Two different figures that get confused

They are two separate things. The battery lasts around two years with five migrations a year, and when it runs out the cell is replaced. And the price includes three years of location and connection, with no fees and no maintenance costs.

As for what happens from the fourth year on, write to us before buying: it is the question we get most, and it deserves a concrete, up-to-date answer rather than a promise on a page.
