Ready-to-use white glycerin base for melt and pour soaps. Perfect for crafting soaps with honey, pollen, or propolis. Gentle on the skin and easy to personalize with scents and colours.
White or clear: that is the whole decision. The white one covers what you put in; the clear one shows it.
Opaque white vegetable glycerine soap base, melt and pour, for making soaps with hive products. 1 kg block in a reusable tub, no parabens or SLS.
01 · WHITE OR CLEAR
On a white base, a pigment gives a flat colour, like a shop bar, and whatever solids you add stay hidden except the ones breaking the surface.
On clear, the same pigment gives a stained-glass effect and the pollen or petals show suspended. If your idea is to show the hive product, the clear one is the other we carry; if it is a solid-colour soap, this one.
White also has a practical advantage in production: it forgives. A bubble, a lump or a layer that did not come out perfectly does not show, and across a batch of twenty bars that is time.
02 · NO LYE
It is an already-saponified base: you melt it in a water bath between 60 and 70 °C, add whatever you want and pour. No caustic soda is handled at any point.
That is what makes it suitable for workshops — with children, supervised — and for anyone starting without setting up a laboratory. The kilo gives ten or twelve bars of 80-100 g.
03 · WHAT YOU CAN ADD
The base takes hive products without losing stability, but each one has its limit:
| What you add | How much | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Liquid honey | Up to 3 % | Above that, the soap sweats |
| Propolis tincture | Start at 1-2 % | It tints: on white it turns cream |
| Essential oils | At the end, base warm | Hot, they evaporate |
| Natural pigments | To taste | On white they give flat colour |
| Pollen and petals | As it thickens | Earlier, they sink |
And the move that never fails: spray alcohol over the freshly poured surface. It pops the bubbles and, if you work in layers, welds the next one on.
One last habit: glycerine soap is hygroscopic, so wrap it in film as soon as you unmould. Left in the air it ends up beaded with drops in a couple of days.
