Detalles de NOSI-VET – Natural Gut Support for Honeybees

You crack open a hive in late February and something's off. Stained combs, bees barely crawling at the entrance, and a population that just won't build up. Or worse — everything looks fine, but the colony simply isn't thriving. That's the real problem with Nosema ceranae — it often does its damage silently before you ever notice.

NOSI-VET is a liquid complementary feed developed at the University of Wrocław (Poland) as part of a research project focused on diseases of beneficial insects. Its formula combines oregano essential oil rich in carvacrol — widely recognised for its antimicrobial activity in the digestive tract — with sunflower lecithin, which stabilises the blend and supports midgut lining protection. The goal: hinder spore colonisation of the midgut and support colony vitality during critical periods.

It works best as a preventive measure or early intervention, before spore loads spiral out of control. If you don't run lab analyses, the manufacturer recommends prophylactic use in spring and autumn. In autumn, apply it before winter bees begin to develop — gut support helps those long-lived bees start stronger, but it won't reverse damage already done. Never use during a honey flow.

Dosage: shake well before use. 3 ml per litre of syrup (sugar or invert), feeding 2–5 litres per colony depending on strength. Feed in the evening, once flight activity has ceased. Application via feeder (most effective option), by spraying onto frames, or by trickling between frames (syrup temp. max. 40 °C). Compatible with protein supplements; do not administer simultaneously with veterinary medicines.

Yield: the 200 ml bottle prepares ~66 litres of treated syrup; the 500 ml bottle, ~166 litres.
