MONTHS SHELF LIFE

0.5 L concentrate based on chamomile and aromatic herbs, for making syrup and spraying over the frames during spells of confinement.

The manufacturer presents it as a digestive for the bee when the weather keeps her in. It is a complementary feed, not a medicine.

01 · HOW TO PREPARE IT

200 g of sugar per litre of product

The manufacturer’s ratio is 200 g of white sugar (sucrose) per litre of Neo-Nosapiol — that is, 100 g for this half-litre bottle. Shake well until dissolved and spray over the bees as finely as possible, concentrating on those on the brood frames. And repeat it as many times as needed until weather and bloom allow normal foraging: it is not a one-off application. To add it to already-made feeding syrup, one bottle per 25 litres.

02 · WHEN

During confinement, but above 15 °C

It makes sense in spells of confinement caused by poor weather — mild temperatures and high humidity, typically spring and autumn — when the colony goes days without flying. With one condition worth keeping in mind: it is applied when the weather allows, above 15 °C. Spraying in the cold is wetting the colony to no purpose. Outside those windows the colony manages on its own; this is not a year-round routine.

03 · WHAT IS IN IT

Sugar, chamomile and aromatic herbs

The composition is short enough to read in full: sugar (sucrose) and processed chamomile (Chamomilla recutita) and aromatic herbs, with potassium sorbate (E-202) as preservative. The analytical constituents describe it better than any adjective: 23 % total sugars, 75 % moisture and 0.8 % crude protein. In other words, sugared water with plant extracts: it accompanies feeding, but it is not a protein supply and does not replace a pollen-substitute patty.

04 · THE MIX

Make up only what you will use

Once dissolved with sugar or added to syrup you have a sugar solution, and a sugar solution kept at room temperature ferments. Make up the amount you will apply on the visit and do not keep leftovers from one week to the next. The sealed bottle is another matter: keep it cool, dry and out of direct sunlight, with 36 months of life from manufacture.

05 · BEFORE YOU BUY

This is a complementary feed, not a veterinary medicine: it does not treat or prevent disease. If you suspect a pathology in the apiary, the route is diagnosis and an authorised medicine. It is registered under number ESP-46172002, and the manufacturer’s technical sheet can be downloaded from this page.
