Straight 21 cm beekeeping spatula with a stainless-steel blade and wooden handle. Its broad, flat blade is designed for scraping propolis and wax from accessible surfaces, tidying edges and applying light leverage. It is a straightforward cleaning and maintenance tool, distinct from a curved or hooked hive tool.
Hold the edge at a shallow angle and push it in a controlled motion to remove deposits of propolis or wax. Its width spreads the pressure and cleans a larger area with each pass, particularly on frame rests, edges and flat hive surfaces.
The handle keeps your hand away from the blade and remains comfortable during repeated work. Remove residues before they harden, clean the metal section and dry it promptly. Do not soak the wooden handle or put it away while damp.
The straight blade can make light separations, but it lacks the heel and hook of a hive tool intended for heavily propolised boxes or frames. If a joint will not move, change the point of attack or the tool instead of twisting the blade or overloading the handle.
